Mary Davis
Mary Davis has always enjoyed all forms of creativity. Although first and foremost a painter. She has a practical interest in printmaking, textiles and ceramics.
Colour form and the exploration of texture are essential elements in her work. She paints mainly in pastel but will also paint in oils and acrylics. She is very fond of drawing media pencil, charcoal and of course pastels.
She has a great love of travel and has visited India five times amongst other countries resulting in many sketchbooks from these colourful areas.
Apart from her artwork she has a great love of music and has played many instruments including the saxophone and piano accordion.
She has had a long career in teaching and on retirement attended a foundation course at The Arts University Bournemouth and at the Winchester School of Art.
